Let’s hide behind this giant onomatopoeia!
Maybe it’s a holdover from my love of the ’66 Batman series, but I love giant sound-effects splattered all over a comics page. And I know it’s a little passe when that’s how every article written by mainstream media likes to open an article about comics, as if that’s the only way to describe the experience. But it’s like thought balloons or company logos and indicia on the corner of the cover… It’s just a special place in my heart and memories finding my first love of comics and superheroes as a kid in the 70s.
