You ever wonder why, when things could very likely get worse, someone winds up saying, “Things could always be worse.” and wind up making it so? I mean, I get it, some of us just succumb to inevitability, but why not go with something like, “Things can always get better,” or, “Things can always bring me cheesecake and maybe a nice root beer?”
